to any that can shed light or offer a fix.

had the game on standard PS4, went with the Pro a couple months back. redownloaded game and reinstalled from PS Store. first thing that popped up was in the practise range areas. 1. in the range, nothing responds until i pause and assign controller, then it seems fine. but in the other areas, moving ball location seems to freeze the game, and i can only pause and exit the area. this wasnt a biggie, so didnt think too much of it. i figured somehow that playing with the dualshock with play/charge cable was "confusing" it. however, playing without cable in bluetooth setting didnt help.

but now...

hadnt loaded the GN Course Designer since i had the standard PS4. i had reason to work on something last week, but bad news.

i can load a work in progress, a legacy, and even start a new course no problem. BUT, though i can navigate some with the d-pad, nothing much else will function.if i go to edit course, neither analog stick functions, nor can i zoom in or out with the triggers. the edit course gunsight/compass doesnt appear. if i say, go to add a surface or bunker, the outline appears in the lower left of the view, stuck and immovable.

the rest of the playable game is fine, no issues. i wasnt even going to pursue this with the new game on the horizon, but i really need to get this sorted. i've talked to others who upgraded to the Pro, they report no problems.

can i get some help from the HB guys?

oh well, it's been a week and no replies from anyone.

When you go into the controller settings, the course designer is set to use a controller/gamepad?

I don't understand the question Keith. I can pause and "assign controller" which i've tried. i've also needed to do that for the practice range since i upgraded to PS4 Pro. i'll be on the tee, but nothing will function until i pause and "assign controller". then all works normally.   as i described in the original post, i can enter the designer, start a new course, open a work in progress, or even redownload a legacy, but little else. D-Pad navigation works but nothing more. if i click on edit course or add/create, it's stuck. neither analog will move around or orbit, neither trigger will zoom in or out. if for example i try to add a surface, say a bunker, it will appear in the lower left of the screen, but i cannot move it. the D-Pad lets me resize it, but nothing more. In regular play, all is fine, and i have no problem in any other games. just to check, i redownloaded TGC1, entered the designer, and it works normally. i have looked at all the game settings and console settings to see if i was missing some obscure setting, but found nothing.

Sorry, I missed you were on PS4.  When I saw your post, the first thing I thought of was maybe it is set to mouse/keyboard instead of controller.  I was thinking you were on PC, sorry about that.

As for the issue you are having, I have not seen that before.  I will have to defer to the devs to see if they have heard or seen this before.

Have any other PS4 users experienceed this?  If so, can you provide any help for Frank?

The first thing I would do honestly is try a different controller just to make sure there is nothing in the electronics that is getting discombobulated during the game.  Did 100% try another controller?  The reason I ask, is I've seen controllers function normal for one game and then not another.

Thank you John, and yes. I have switched from wired to bluetooth on my regular 2nd gen Dualshock, and back. I also switched to the one shipped with the PS4 Pro, but no change in the behavior.  At one point i thought that it might be a console change thing. i had cleared my original PS4 before trading it at Gamestop, then redownloaded and installed the game to the Pro, so it wasnt a USB cable transfer of games and profile save files. TGC1 worked fine, and i wouldnt expect any problems when i get and play TGC 2019 on release day.
