I was playing Sweetems course in the Inglorious Bastard's Society tournament and during the second round had some really crazy winds.  Here are a few observations

On the second par 5 which is just straight south I think.   I had an 18 mph tail wind.  Hit my ball.  Great.  235 yards out and suddenly the tail wind is now a 20 mph head wind.  The wind switched 180 degrees from my first shot to my second.  Okay. Hit the second shot short and as I am lining up my pitch it once again is a tailwind blowing at 18mph.

If this wasn't bad enough I was on a par 3 and it was roughly 200 yards and I had a 17mph head wind.  So I select my 233 club and get ready to hit when I notice the wind moving.  Within 10 seconds it went from a 17mph head wind to an 18 mph tail wind, all while I'm standing on the tee.  Once again a 180 degree change.  I waited and watched for 5 minutes and it changed direction, each time 180 degrees 5 or 6 times.  In the end I waited until it was a tail wind and instead of hitting a 233 club I selected a 170 and put it within 8 feet.

I saw at least 6 holes that had some version of these things happening blowing from east to west then west to east.  Never seen this before in this particular iteration of the game.

While I think there should be some movement of wind I don't think it is intended to have it literally changing 180 degrees 5 or 6 times in 5 minutes or be blowing from one direction on one shot, switch 180 degrees on the second and again 180 degrees on the third.

I’ve been saying since before release.....  Allow the designers to set the prevailing wind.  Some variation should be random.... but nothing as drastic as you describe.

This happened to royce the other night in a matchplay game at Celtic manor only on one shot on one hole,it was playing 18mph downwind, then it changed round to 18mph in face, luckily the round was recorded so there is evidence of it happening, then it switches back.

just in case anybody is interested,it happens 2 hrs 24mins 10secs into video below
