Not sure yet in all honesty. It all depends how much time I get to work on it in the next week. I have hardly touched it all over this weekend as I've been busy with other stuff.

Playability wise it is pretty much ready to go but there is still loads for me to do yet to get it to where I want it to be from an accuracy point of view especially now I need to adjust (make smaller) pretty much every green and quite a lot of the fairways from how I had them traced out from OSM so it is up to date with how the course is now.

Some examples of changes required would be :

1. Both the 6th and 16th holes there was no fairway running directly up to the green whereas now there is, so I need to get the info I need to put those in place correctly.

2. A lot of the trees have been either trimmed or even cut down so some holes now look and feel slightly different than they did.

3. All the area around the 4th green (including the water feature) has been changed in terms of the planting etc. plus this green has been extended a bit at the back

The other thing is the more new info I find and look at about the course the more new stuff I keep finding that I didn't even know was there. For example there is a water feature / stream that runs all the way down the left side of the 10th green and into the pond down in the valley to the left of the fairway...….I had no idea that was there at first as you can't really see it on OSM or google earth. So things like that all mean more work and time.

Anyway I'll give any updates I can regarding the release and also try and add some progress pics too.

How is Hillside coming along Han?.

How is Hillside coming along Han?.

Hillside (along with all my other projects) is on hold while I get this done.

Everything (bunkers, greens and fairways) has been traced out on OSM and added to the plot, they just need their positions adjusting a bit to match the Lidar data. After that it's then all the fine tuning and cosmetic stuff.

However, I have learned a lot about the whole Lidar course building process (especially the OSM tracing and importing part) whilst doing Valderrama so when I go back to doing Hillside I will be giving everything I had done previously a good inspection before continuing with it.
Armed with what I know now that I didn't know when I first started it, I think it may be easier to re-do it almost from scratch rather than try an "fix" certain things that aren't quite right.

Unfortunately even if I was to stop now on Valderrama and jump straight back on to Hillside I very much doubt it would be ready in time for the British Masters, or well not at the level I would want it to be at to be used for a tournament anyway.

I'll have another look at it either tonight or tomorrow to see exactly where it is at and then decide for certain then, but potentially if anyone on PC wants to have a go at getting it done in time for the British Masters (8th - 12th May) then I may send them the file(s) with what I have done so far.

Hey guys... can someone direct me to "how-to" Lidar? I'm pretty tech-savvy and feel as though with the right guidance I could do a Lidar for my favourite 2 courses in BC... one of which was in Happy Gilmour.

I’m really interested, so looking forward to this release. I love British courses especially RCRs. I’m going to Hillside next week for the Masters and like to compare design realism. Has it been set out with LiDar or the traditional methods? I started Hillside a few months ago but struggled to get the accuracy I wanted so the course turned into a fictional design instead called Birchenwood Links, but there are still a few holes in there you may recognise on the TV next week.
