There are six main controller options I can find for the XBox One.  Which one do you use when playing TGC 2019?  Please share your thoughts on why the one you're using best suits you.

I started this poll because I can't think of a non-racing game in which a controller choice had as much of an impact on my enjoyment of the game.  It really came into focus when my Elite controller suddenly showed behavior that showed that its left trigger was being pressed all the time, and the right trigger would not activate.

I reverted to the best of my four, XBox One stock controller options, and I've found that my putting game has suffered tremendously as a result.  The stick motion doesn't feel as precise as that of the Elite controller, and I'm finding it hard to not only hold the line with putts, more importantly, I find that I'm having a lot more trouble regulating putt strength.  I bet my scoring average has increased by at least 5 strokes since making the swap.

I'm going to be buying another Elite controller because this game simply doesn't feel as visceral without it .  I know this sounds like I'm an equipment snob, but call it what you will, the game is both more fun to play with an Elite controller.

I take it that you use the Elite on the PC?  It works better for me on the PC as well as it does on the XBox One X.  That tells me it's the controller more than it is the platform.  I wanted so badly to hold out for an Elite 2 controller, but my frustration of playing the game with the stock controller has reached the breaking point.

You should go for it then..... you won’t be sorry.  They also have a wireless receiver for it that plugs into USB if you don’t like the corded.  I use it at my desk when I’m designing.... so it doesn’t make any difference and I stay corded.

I'll still play the game primarily on the XBox One X, but yeah, I've already decided to buy another XBox One Elite controller.  I got over three years of use out of the previous one, and it somehow broke during a 170 mile trip in my car.  It was fine when we left our vacation spot, but never worked again when I plugged it up at home.

I have played the game with the XBox One Elite connected to my XBox One X via cord, and it seems to make no difference in performance.  I do use it corded with the PC, the few times I play the PC version, because I don't have the wireless transmitter dongle.

Oh wow... I just realized I put this poll in the 'untitled' room section of the forum.  It will be as lost as last year's Easter eggs here... could a mod possibly move this to the XBox One "General" room section?

I currently have a stock Xbox One X controller, but I will definitely be buying the Elite 2 on November 4th. 

Adjustable stick spring tension is worth the wait for me.

I play on PC and still use wired 360 controllers  ....  which works well for me.

The Elite 2 does look amazing but I cannot justify the price tag.

But I can understand it, if it really does enhance the gameplay experience.

I was planning to hold out for and Elite 2 because I like the idea of the adjustable stick tension also.  I'm just having such a frustrating time trying to adapt to any of my stock controllers with TGC 2019, after getting acclimated to the Elite.  It's amazing how different it feels!

I have the Scuf Elite or pro. Cannot recall. I actually had the MS Elite but the right stick was floating so I gave it my son and bought the Scuf. Ironically the right stick floats on this one as well. I would say the Scuf is better though because of the paddle design. They go vertical instead of horizontal which is way easier to navigate. Much easier for shooters especially for PUBG. The quality is about the same as the MS Elite. I have had issues with the hand grips wearing off. On my second pair. I also customized my to look black and red in honor of Tiger.

The main reason I got the MS Elite was for PUBG but what I found is it is much more immersive for TGC use. Meaning I can work the ball more with the Scuf then with a stock controller. It is harder to hit it straight but that means I can play with the cone more. It is also easier to control tempo with it. You can adjust the sticks to make it harder to hit it fast or easier to hit it slow and vice versa. I have it so it is harder hit fast. Meaning I have to swing harder to get fast which makes more sense to me.

With the stock controllers ( I have three barely used ones) I found them way to easy to hit straight but a lot harder to control the tempo. I had to barely swing to get perfect and swing super slow to get slow. It felt horrible.

Ohh and I have the longest right stick you can get for my swinging. Feels way better than the short stubby one.

Yeah, this is what I'm running into also with the stock XBox One controller... tempo control is considerably more difficult for me, having learned to manage tempo with an Elite.

Ohh and I have the longest right stick you can get for my swinging. Feels way better than the short stubby one.

I thought that would have worked better for me for swinging as well, but I actually had more problems tracing the vertical axis with it, AND, even more difficult tempo regulation.  I guess my thumb and senses got accustomed to the 'throw' of the sticks?

I was curious to see if we were going to have any Razer controller users among us?  I guess that's too much to expect in a sample size of 11 though.

Does anyone know anyone who uses a Razer XBox One controller of any type?  I know I've never seen one in the stores.
