Hello everyone. I purchased the golf club 2 on steam for my pc a week ago now. I've played many rounds now and really really like this game until I have to chip around the greens. My club says 12 yards and the hole is say 10 or 14 yards and so on but when I hit a clean perfect perfect shot the ball will sometimes go close to 20 yards and maybe more even on a uphill hole, I'm trying to back off a bit on the back swing but its still not doing what I would like, not sure though why I have to back off when the club says 12 yards and the hole is 15 or so.
I've been playing golf games since the commodore 64 days so I have a lot of experience playing this type of game.
I'm using a Logitech F310 gamepad as well.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Try putting the lob setting all the way to the top and pulling stick back all the way till it stops and then move forward gently. After doing this a few times then you can adjust the lob to where it needs to be. There is a practice range to learn.

A lot of factors go into how your ball will act with a chip onto the green.  As Bob said setting the loft slider to the top will create backspin to help your shot stick.  The green speed/slope also cake a difference in the roll and how hard you hit it makes a difference too.  Practice, practice, practice....lol.

Thank you guys for the help/tips. I watched a long video on you tube that helped also. I'm going to just keep at it and its getting a bit better, the way golf is anyway which is a good thing. I'm sure I'll grab a copy of 2019 soon and give it a try but trying to figure out why the download is 12Gig compared to only 5Gig on TGC V2. Thanks again.

There's a lot more to it in TGC2019.  Contains expanded course creator, Societies, PGA Tour mode Season, Official Courses, 3 club options.  In layman's terms.... 2019 is like a mixture of TGC and Tiger Woods Golf.  You won't be disappointed if you buy it.

Thank you RockManDan. I'm still playing Tiger 08 and its a fun game but a bit too easy, a mixture of the 2 sounds like a winner. I bought 2 just to give it a try to see if I like it and I do. You'll probably see me posting in the 2019 forum after the next sale comes to steam LOL. Thank you.
