So I have a Dualshock 4 and I figured I'd give it a go. I have some questions.
Okay figured out the rumble sooooo....

Finally how do i do a practice swing or at least have the ball taken away to do a practice swing using a Dualshock?

probably same as Xb push down left stick

Practice swings on controller is click the swing stick. If you swing with the left stick click it like a button. Or if you swing with the right stick, then click that one. I'm guessing Thranger swings with the left stick by his post.
