PGA Championship Recap

Greenbrier played long and with many holes having a cross wind it played more and more difficult each day. Only a handful of players seemed to thrive under these playing conditions.

Congratulations to AGOATNAMEDSETH for winning our first major with a -33 score over 4 rounds with his 2nd win in 3 starts.

Top 5 finishers:

2.  Gopack2017               -27
3.  Fabian_rollin9             -26
4.  ufgatorkyle                -26
5.  jerk03                       -23

We now head over to Europe for the next phase of the Tour with our first stop being that hotbed of golf...Denmark.

Prince of Denmark Open Recap

What many thought would be an easy tune up event before heading over to the United Kingdom for it's more famous courses caught many by surprise. Himmerland is a tough course at the best of times but when it's made hard and fast due to a hot dry summer it's probably one of the toughest courses in Europe.

This tournament turned out to be one of the most tightly contested stops on the Tour this year. We end up with a 3 way tie for first place and 4 more players one shot back and tied for 2nd.

After another strong finish AGOATNAMEDSETH will be subjected to drug testing before the next stop in Scotland.

Top 5 finishers

1.  rickyrizzuto       -8
1.  robotdino150       -8
1.  agoatnamedseth     -8
4.  DojerMcfloj        -7
4,  Slake_moth         -7
4.  cajuntigers        -7
4.  chrisgreg10        -7

Next stop is Carnoustie for one of the longest courses on Tour this year measuring out at over 7400 yards.

Carnage @ Carnoustie Recap

The carnage never happened if anything the players were not intimidated and made Carnoustie look pretty weak.

Relatively new member, Robotino150, pulled off the rare double and has now won 2 consecutive tournaments. Well done Robotino150!!!!

A fixture on the leaderboard, AGOATNAMEDSETH, was a no show for the Carnoustie tournament which has fueled speculation that he was avoiding the hated drug testers that were waiting for him at the hotel. We will see if he submits his samples in time to play at Royal Troon

Top 5 finishers:

1.  Robotino150              -20
2.  ChrisGreg10              -19
3.  Slakw_Moth              -18
4.  Fabian_rollin              -17
5.  Magnum_Mikey1034  -16

Royal Troon is the next stop on the Tour. Troon is a true out and back course with the prevailing winf coming from the west they could be facing a cross wind on as many as 15 of the 18 holes!!!

3. TB12_JE11_93     -18

Soften up the conditions a little and you guys make a mockery of the Tournament Committee. The Committee has taken notice and they promise revenge at Ballybunion.

When I soften up the conditions you guys just rip my courses apart

Preview of Global Golf Tour on 2K21

Not to fear Global Golf Tour will continue on TGC2019 through the finish of Season 2 as well as Season 3. If there is still enough interest after Season 3 I will continue with a Season 4, etc. Global Golf Tour will be merging with 2020 World Tour which I also run. The only difference members will notice is that the handicap limit will increase t +25 from the current +20

The much anticipated release of 2K21 will be on August 21st and the Global Golf Tour is ready for operations under the new game. The biggest issue with the introduction of a new game is now we must become accustomed to playing the new game. Society owners do not know at this point if any changes have been made to the Society structure and most importantly how we can define user settings for tournaments within the Society. For the first little while I anticipate having all aids available except "shot preview".

The Society will also have an upper handicap limit of at least +20 but if I can increase it to +25 it will be considered.

Society play will begin on Monday, August 24th if enough people receive their games in a timely manner. Due to postal delays in the USA we may delay Society play for a few days.

The first 15 tournaments will be held on the official 2k21 courses which will be set at the default settings or easier at the beginning. I do not anticipate implementing my trademark high winds and slick greens for quite some time. The emphasis will be on having fun and learning the new game format.

Tournaments will continue to only be held on real courses and we will be playing on courses located around the world.

Once we have at least 50 participants in each event we will be returning to the Gold and Silver Tour system that we began in Season 2 on TGC2019. Details will be posted as we move back to that format.

Here are the biggest changes for 2k21:

The big change for 2k21 is that we will be having regular Ryder Cup style team competitions. We anticipate having teams made up from players in various geographic areas and playing matches against the other teams. I am  hoping to create the following teams:
1. USA
2. Canada
3. Great Britain (England, Scotland & Wales)
4. Rest of Europe
5. Rest of the World
6. Wildcard Team (made up of spares waiting to join one of the other 5 teams)

Team size will depend on the amount of interest.

This will be an exciting team concept that will take place in conjunction with regular our events. There will be an exciting prize for the members of the winning team at the end of the season.

We will also be implementing a "Winners Choice" Tournament which means that the winner of this event will be given the option to choose the course and all settings for a future event.
