  • Without Great Courses There Can Be No Great Golf
« on: March 18, 2021, 08:21:50 PM »
I’ve started a Rustic course and I have to say that I’m having the most fun with the designer that I’ve had in a while.  I decided to try doing a modified Auto-Gen course and I’m having a lot of fun with it.
I set the hills at about 75% and then generated the course.  Then I looked at the holes and moved the generated ones a little to my liking.  I really didn’t modify them much.  Then I dialed down the fairways and rough and am doing those from scratch.  The resulting course is coming out very interesting using just some minor smoothing.  Right now it’s a Par 72 at about 7,000 yds with 1 tee and 1 pin setting and I’m not sure where I’ll go with it from here.  I’m going to keep working on the course for a while and see where it takes me.  I can’t put my finger on it exactly, but there does seem to be some improvements to the designer.

I’m still working on it Rickster,  I think that it’s turning out really nice.  3 tees, 3 Pins  and doing a lot of off course sight lines.  It’s a suburban course with subdivisions, small office and factory buildings on the outskirts.  The working name is “Anywhere C.C.”  And that’s pretty much it....  it could be just about anywhere and is a municipal track that’s probably been the same for a long time.  One thing that I’m really excited about is that I finally did a waterfall that I really like.  I’m playtesting and tweaking a bunch of little things now.  Should be coming soon.
