So,  maybe i should already know this but,  can someone clarify some of these club attributes as we compare the clubset we are currently using against a different selection.

Distance-  we all know what this is
Shot Shaping-  to me, this means the ability to slice/fade a shot (  the greater the white bar ,  the more a left/ right draw or fade will be applied).   does this also effect the downswing/upswing emphasis?   thus effecting backspin or low trajectory into the wind?

Forgiveness-
im assuming this applies to both being off of the swing plane and,  the ease of hitting within the tempo band.   ( is it both?)
Swing Plane-  i have no idea what this is   (any clarification would be appreciated )

Distance control-  im figuring this is the effect that the up/down adjustment of the pre shot effects the distance the ball travels in relevance to its listed carry distance.

With more shot shaping, you can get more draw/fade but also more backspin etc.
Forgiveness is wider window for swing timing (tempo). This do not affect the window for swing plane at all.
Swing-Plane is wider window for the swing plane.
Distance control is wider window for the intended distance you have set with the aim marker - so if your intended shot is 95% partial, you have a wider area of backswing length that produce this result. This is more easy to see if you have the power-meter on - where you can see the white window for the distance of the aim marker.

Good descriptions,  thanks Anders.  This helps  lot.  And yes, I get swing plane now.  It is what it says it is, I  just wasnt picking up on it.  Distance control for partials, forgiveness is tempo.  I will engraine these in my head a little better when choosing what I think I need.   Prob. Helped a few others as well.

The following is taken directly from the official PGATour 2K website.

DISTANCE

Gameplay: determines the max carry distance, launch RPMs, and apex of a shot.
Counter attribute: forgiveness (more distance = less forgiveness)
Pro: increased distance offers more scoring potential on long holes, with well struck shots.
Con: reduced hook/slice control (forgiveness) can lower FIR and GIR percentages for a lesser skilled golfer.

FORGIVENESS

Gameplay: impacts the downswing timing forgiveness; poor timing tilts the spin axis on the ball, resulting in off target shots.
Counter attribute: distance (more forgiveness = less distance)
Pro: increased hook/slice forgiveness keeps you out of the hazards, and on target more often than not.
Con: reduced distance can make scoring on longer holes more challenging.

SWING PLANE

Gameplay: impacts the swing plane forgiveness; missing the swing plane adds push or pull to a shot.
Counter attribute: distance control (more swing plane = less distance control)
Pro: increased push/pull forgiveness keeps you out of the hazards, and on target more often than not.
Con: reduced distance control makes it harder to dial in that distance, resulting in more over/under shooting of your target.

DISTANCE CONTROL

Gameplay: impacts the backswing to downswing transition window; backswing transition point determines the swing power.
Counter attribute: swing plane (more distance control = less swing plane)
Pro: increased distance control reduces the chance of an over swing or an under swing, keeping you on target.
Con: reduced swing plane increases the chance of pushing or pulling your shot.

SHOT SHAPING

Gameplay: impacts the amount of fade/draw/spin control that can be done using the True Shot shaping feature.
Counter attribute: various (more shot shaping = less other attributes)
Pro: more flexibility with shot shaping means more ways to attack the target.
Con: a situational attribute that doesn't come into play unless the player chooses to make use of it.
