So just curious,  if I spend months on a new course will it be transferable to the next pga2k/ HBtgc game?
Concerned we might be at a crossroads here.

I’ve been able to transfer all my courses from one to the next.  There is a hiccup if you want to jump 2 or 3 iterations of the game.  You have to move one new edition at a time.  For instance I moved a few from TGC2 to 2K21…. But it had to fo TGC2 to 2019 to 2K21.  I would imagine it will be the same.

All 4 Games have been for the same console/pc so there has been no problem transferring the courses, It seems EA sports Golf Tour is next Gen console only so it 2k move that way to, who knows what the future Holds.I feel the game needs a new physics engine so conditions come into play more and then you could have a simpler swing so most players can understand what is happening.

A new game engine, will almost certainly nerf Lidar courses, which they semi nerfed this version of the game. Ie you have use 2019 on PC to import Lidar data then import to 2k21. This would mean alot of great RCR courses (Lidar based) would be lost to this game........................and greatly disappoint me............

I can see a new game engine……. But I don’t see them moving away from a PC version.  A lot of designers would probably hang it up if this were to happen.
That would turn it into “The New Rory” and I’m sure that No one wants that.

Lidar data has been used to recreate courses since the APCD. Chad made a tool that made it much more accesible for more - and has not made a tool for 2k21. With a new engine, some crafty people would most likely find ways to use elevation data and point clouds to make terrain - but will it be as accesible as Chad's tool?
I find it very unlikely that HB/2K will make such a tool - so it will be 3rd party if someone creates one.
