Looking at the official pre order web site here>  https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/store/pga-tour-2k23-cross-gen-edition-pre-order/9P4SL2ZL85D2/0017

I own the Series S, and reviewing the 4 versions for Xbox, be aware that the standard version ($59.99) fails to say "optimized for Xbox Series X/S at the top of the page when selected, as well as at the info below the screenshots.  However, it does say 4K Ultra HD and 60 fps* for the standard version.  Somewhat confusing, but maybe the standard version @ 4K and 60 fps is for the Xbox ONE S and not the Xbox One??  The other 3 versions (more$$), all say "optimized for Xbox Series X/S" at the top, and below under the capabilities header.  Just beware that if you own a SERIES Xbox you might want to go for the "optimized" Series S/X versions.  I'm hoping this optimization for Series X/S is going to have some customization to select resolution as well as fps locked or unlocked.  Personally, I'd be happy @ 1440p @ 60/120 fps, as that is what the Series S can natively max out at.

I noticed that about the Standard edition does indeed show 4K 60 FPS + in its technical capabilities section, just like the XBox Series X/S Enhanced version that's $10 more.  I think what might be happening here is that the Standard Edition will not feature the additional graphics benefits like ray tracing and advanced object detail of the Enhanced version, but *may* offer a performance/quality setting option that could allow the game to be played at 30 FPS (Quality) or 60 FPS (Performance).

I suspect that the Series S will be able to run the game at 60 FPS+ in its natively rendered 1440p resolution that gets upscaled to 4K, while the Series X will be able to achieve the same 60 FPS+ at 2160p.  This is all speculation on my part though.

I was so tempted to get the deluxe version for the early access as I go away for 10 days on the 15th October. Did a bit of searching and I can get the physical copy for Xbox X|S for £51.85 so can't justify the extra for a few days.

Yeah the big question I think is this word optimization or optimized for the series x and s.  It's got to be between what Microsoft deems as optimized for their hardware and what the developer does to join hands with that.  I sure hope you're right on the settings customization in game would love to be able to play at optimal frames and resolution for the current gen platforms.

Around 8 minutes 40 seconds into the video are graphic settings for PC.
I hope we can set these settings for the consoles.

I'm not going to be a day one buyer of this game, but for those who are, I would like to ask someone with an Xbox series s or x to let me know what are the graphical capabilities of this game in the settings menu.  For example: FPS, resolution settings etc.

I'm hoping for 1440p at 60 to 120 FPS, or at bare minimum 1080p at 120 FPS.  Thanks in advance.

VRR Info:-
3840 x 2160p@120
It's smooth as silk and the trees are a big improvement but the crowds remain disappointing.

Thanks for the info.  I'm guessing you're on a Series X.  Is there options in the graphic settings for multiple res/fps settings?  I own Series S and if I can get 1440p @ 120 that was what I had hoped for.   Glad it is as smooth and has more ambient detail.

I'm sure he's quoting a PC performance stat.  The Series X has two options.  Quality 4K graphics at 30 FPS and a "reduced quality" (still appears to be 4K res, but lower object detail) Performance mode that targets 60 FPS.  I don't think it sustains 60 FPS in performance mode, but it feels reasonably close most of the time.

I'm disappointed that it can't do 4K in quality mode at 60 FPS, but it still looks pretty good in performance mode.  I think the Unity engine has reached its limit with what they're trying to get out of it with this game.

Thanks, JC.  I have viewed a few videos, and from what I've gathered, is that the Series S in Quality mode is 1440p@30fps, and performance mode 1080p@60fps.  I would also like to know if the SSGI (Screen Space Global Illumination) on/off makes a difference in looks and performance good or bad on or off.

Series X on an LG C1, the C1 has a game mode that gives the VRR info and I'm simply sharing the info the TV is giving me. It also suggests it's playing in Dolby Vision that I wasn't aware the game had???

I'm glad you weighed in with that PooSplatt, because it made me realize one aspect of the numbers you posted that I missed earlier.  The figures you posted was 3840 x 2160p@120.  When I first read that, my brain said 120 FPS, but now that I read it's your LG C1 reporting that figure, I'd say that 120 is hertz, not FPS.  LOL... you made me go check my TCL Series 6 display and I get a res and refresh rate shown there.  My TCL Series 6 is a 2018 vintage and it's limited to 60 Hz.  It shows 4K at 60 Hz in both Performance and Quality mode.  I can say with certainty that the slide show I'm watching in Quality mode with this game is 30 FPS, at best.  Also, my TCL also shows Dolby Vision on the display info panel for this game.

I watched a You Tube video of a frame rate test being performed on a Series X running PGA TOUR 2K23 in Quality mode, using analytical software.  The game locks the frame rate at 30 FPS in Quality mode, and struggles to maintain even that at times.

Sorry for the confusion :) I've opted for the Performance mode just to be on the safe side.
