Well I did much better this week, love that course!

Good to give yourself a bit of a buffer heading into the Major/cut!

FYI for those that don't check the OP (original post) of this thread - I update it constantly.  Preview link of Whistler's Shadow Golf Course now added.

Sneaking into this tour late. Got the first event in before the deadline tomorrow. Finished with -21. I was doing well halfway thru round 2 and then I got to experience the newly added, higher wind which carried over all the way thru round 3 lol. Had a bit of a time making adjustments for it and it cost me on some approach shots.

I'll try to get the 2nd event at Whistler's Shadow in and done later today :)

Going to be interesting moving forward how the wind factors into the week long Tournament!  Do you just play when you can - do you check in to see if you can get a calm wind - do you stop playing when it starts blowing and try to resume later?  It doesn't matter to me what you do as long as you play!  Nice to have you aboard NB.

i would never stop playing if the wind kicked up during a round (like today). I could have waited to start the last round though and came back later but I wanted to see if that wind change would carry through the entire next round. Unfortunately, it did lol. But now I know so that will play into my decision going forward. But if I start a round, I will finish it regardless. The Pros don't get to decide to not play after starting a round, so I won't either :)

And thanks, happy to be in the tour!

It'll definitely have me wanting to play my rounds earlier in the week giving me options to hold off if it's super gusty out.  If I wait until the final day or two and get stuck with high winds I'll have no one but myself to blame!  Either way, the more I think about the new wind feature the more I really like it.

Great point about waiting until the last minute to play. Some people may want to do that to see what the scores are they ahve to beat but it may bite them in ass if they get stuck having to play in a tornado lol.

I'm in on Week 1 at -23.
Shot 58, 66, 63.   I was quite pleased with my shooting.  I started off the second really really poorly and bounced back nicely on the back nine with my first Ace.

Nice Yeti - another player in the 50's - makes you one of the guys to watch out for!

Played the first round of Week 2... wind was still kicking around between 7-10 mph. Had a terrible front nine but snagged some birds on the back nine to go -6 after 1. I'll jump back in for the second round in about an hour to see if i can get a more favorable wind velocity.

Part of wants to play that wind though because, at some point, I need to learn how to play with it.... but i think i'll do that in non-tour games until I get some confidence with it and I won't feel like it matters if there's wind or not when I play :)

I do have a question - I'm a console player. When the PS4 version launches and I switch to that, how is that going to affect me on this tour?

Couple of options (I'm open to ideas)
1.  Keep your two names separate and start fresh on PS4 with all PS4 users (you'd stop playing under your PC name)
2.  Same as #1 but you can play both systems if you wanted
3.  Transfer your PC name to your PS4 name and all your progress with it
4.  Reset the league when game is released - Pro/Am status carried over (not a fan of this but if majority want it)

I'm leaning towards #1 or #2 so that the archive remains the same as when tourney closed.  But open to ideas as well.  If your Steam name and PSN name is the same then all I have to do is change your system from PC to PS4 and we're good to go.

I won't play with both PC and PS4. If given a choice, I'd like to see my PC history just carry over to the PS4. Say I finished Week 4 on PC and TGC is released, I'd just pick up on the tour on PS4 in Week 5.

I do have an idea though. After this first season, keep the 3 platforms separate through the 12 week season. Then have a Week 13 "Tournament of Champions" where the Top 25 from each platform are invited to play a 4 round, 4 course (1 round per course). Tour event.

I know the game is supposed to play the same across all platforms but right now, it's a "looks good on paper" thing until we actually see it. Plus, it might make easier for you to track as you can designate someone (tour admin) from each platform to log the scores.

Just an idea with light thought at the moment lol.

I'd like to give it a go because I think the leaderboards would look good with as many players playing one tour as possible.  Logging the scores would be the same either way - it's all one master list of names/scores (entered in any order) and the spreadsheet does the grunt work sorting it out. I do have the stats sorted by system so you can see who's the best from each platform and compare there.

Cool... i'm good either way, I just enjoy playing in a competitive environment :)

Tuning up for the first major - I've never played w/o the green grids so i will be practicing that this week. With the latest update, I've been able to play on medium resolution too for the first time.

My goal is to be the first Grand Slam winner... aim high, shoot low.... literally... lol.

With that in mind - I'm off for the next 5 days so I'll release the course for the first major early in the week to give everyone a chance to have a practice round or two.  I'll be looking to start off with an easier course so don't expect Copper Creek with no grids :)
