Support Update - 21 August 2014

We are so proud to have released The Golf Club for the PC and for Xbox One this week.  We would like to thank you all for your awesome feedback, as well as your patience and understanding as we work out some of the kinks we have encountered thus far.

This is an update as to where we are with some of the bigger known issues.  Please understand that just because something is not on this list it does not mean we are not aware of it and working on it.

As you may or may not know, issues fall generally in to two categories based on where the are occurring: on the server or your local software (the game on your console or PC).  Issues that occur on the server, we can work on with out sending you a patch to download.  Issues that occur locally require a patch.

With that being said, I will tell you that the response to The Golf Club at launch was overwhelming, and our servers became a bit overloaded. But we have been working on the servers non-stop since the game was launched, and we are hopeful that you have already seen some improvements.   We will  be continuing to work to optimize the servers, for both the Xbox One and the PC, in the coming days and weeks.

Xbox One

Relative to locally occurring issues, let's start with the Xbox One.

The first thing you should know is that we have already been working on the first patch for the Xbox One to fix errors and improve graphics, and we are hoping to have out in the next few weeks (it must go through the Microsoft certification process).  In the meantime, there are things you can do to improve your experience right now:

The first is to perform a hard reset of your Xbox One if you are experiencing any of the following issues: not being able to save your courses in the Greg Norman Course Designer, graphical glitches, audio popping, connection issues, crashes, or any other issues you may be having.  To perform a hard reset, turn off the console, unplug it for 15 seconds, then plug-in a restart the console.  It is as easy as that.  Furthermore, we recommend that you do not leave your console in standby mode, as this has caused issues for some users, and can necessitate a hard reset.

Also, if you haven't done so already, turning V-sync on in the Display menu, under Settings, will also improve graphical fidelity.

Now to the specifics for the Xbox One:

Some Achievements Not Unlocking:
We are investigating this issue and should have it resolved with the first patch, or before.

Can't Save Courses in the Greg Norman Course Desgner on the Xbox One:
We are still investigating this and believe it to be a server issue. Hard reset has been know to work for some users.

Terrain Sculpting Block Column:
This is likely a local issue and will be fixed in the first patch.

Missing Courses on the Xbox One:
This seems to be related to a memory leak. A hard reset should get all the courses back
We will have a permanent fix in the first patch

V-Sync Resets Every Time The Game is Closed:
It actually doesn't, the graphic for the button is bugged to look like it does.  This will be fixed in the first patch.

Audio Popping:
This will be fixed with the first patch.

On the PC, we are able to patch the game more easily and you should see the second update, since launch, later today.  Some general suggestions for trouble shooting include ensuring Crossfire or SLI is off (the game does not support them), ensure on-board graphics is turned off in the bios (even if your board doesn't have it, your bios still might), and verify the game cache in steam,

For the PC:

Stats Not Completely Cleared:
This will be fixed on the server side in the coming days.

Average Score of E on the HUD:
We are investigating this now.

Overheating Graphics Cards:
We recommend turning down the graphics settings as we work to optimize the game further in the coming weeks.

Putting Info Blocked By Player:
We are working on this and it will be fixed in a patch in the coming weeks.

General Crashes and Freezes:
These are being investigated on an individual basis with the use of output logs.  Please post in the support forums and attach the information requested in this post.

Both platforms are experiencing issues with freezes and scorecards not updating in multiplayer, and we believe that this issue lies on the server side of things.  We also believe that to be the case for those having issues sending invites to friends from the 'Active Friends' menu.  We are investigating both of these things and will be either fixing them on the server side or including the necessary fixes in a patch in the coming weeks.

As I said, these are not all of the issues we are working on, but they are the highlights.  We will keep you up to date as we continue to make progress.

Thank you all, again, for your patience, your enthusiasm, and your feedback.  Keep it comin'!

**For the PS4 players out there who may be concerned, the issues you see here are platform specific.  We are not expecting to see the same issue mentioned here when the PS4 version of the game launches in the coming weeks.**
