Very excited to be part of the team!

Yeti, that plot looks like it is just begging for a classic to be built on it! Great work so far!

The order list has been finalized.  I'm putting together an email that will explain the process, how to find and share the course file, how to test your hole with wind (because that will be very important on a links course)  It will also have the batting order along with everyone's contact information in case communication is needed. I'm still waiting on some emails and will send the mass email out when I get them.  In the mean time, I'm going to send the course file to the first builder which is DoGgzbollox.  That way we'll get the ball rolling.

As I wasn't involved in the first, I'm not sure how it goes.  How much scope will we have to alter the map to suit our individual hole?

generally it should be minimal...but as long as it fits with the rest of the course I don't think there are any issues with making minor changes.

If you want to make hills, that's fine.  I just don't want to see mountains are large valleys that don't really fit.  It's especially bad if it affects other holes.

Ground: Try to keep earthworks minimal, but don't be afraid to move some dirt.  Try to use the lay of the land as much as possible but if you want to raise lower a big green area or teebox, go for it.

Trees: since I placed all the trees by hand, they won't auto disappear.   If you are trying to lay out a hole and some trees are making it unplayable, please MOVE the trees to a more convenient spot, rather than DELETE them.

Worst case scenario, send me an email or chat with me on Steam and I could probably work it out with you.  But really you don't have very many limitations.  Just don't build mountains or add water where there isn't any.

Also, feel free to plant some trees and shrubs, but please don't over do it.  We'd like this to play well on lower end rigs and the consoles as well.

One giant oak tree...right in the middle of the plot... "Welcome to...Fairy Mound Fairways..."

Well, planting will have to match what has already been done so that will restrict anyone (myself or Taste for example) from melting any graphics cards.

Here is hole 1.

It is a short dogleg right Par 4.  The tee shot is down hill slightly and the player will need to judge just how much of the corner to cut with the driver.  Cut too much and you will likely end in the bunkers short-right.  Hit too far and you'll catch the far-left bunkers.  The fairway is generous in size and slopes towards the close bunkers, so shots are very receptive.

The approach shot will be between 90 and 140 yards depending on how much of the corner was cut.  It is an uphill approach shot with one bunker in the front-right, in front of the pin, and one bunker behind the green.

The green slopes from right to left, towards the ocean.

Hole 1: Par 4.
