Hole 6 is a Par 4 that will leave you with a slight uphill second shot.  It should be a good birdie opportunity.

Hole 7 is a risk reward par 5.  taking the safe option (wide fairway on the right) will force you to lay up.  If you are feeling risky, cutting the corner and carrying the desert island will set you up for a chance at getting to the green in two.

The ninth hole is a short par 4 that will give players a good opportunity to make a birdie to finish off the front nine.  There is an opportunity to cut the corner and carry the first bunker on the left, as long as the wind is not in your face.

You many notice recent pictures do not have the light rough border around the bunkers.  This will be done as a final step.  if i decide to move any bunkers it is very time consuming to delete all of the brushes and re-do them.

Enjoy the pics, course should be ready for some potential beta testing later next week.

Pic of the Day comes from the 13th tee.

This 407yd par 4, dog legs slightly to the left, and plays almost 100ft down hill.  A tiered fairway landing zone will guarantee some extra roll, wile still leaving a good lie for a wedge into this tricky green.

Another Teaser shot from beside the fairway bunker on 15.

Course layout is all done now.
-next on the to do list is some tweaking of the landscape, shaping areas between holes.
-landscaping tee areas
-adding rough around traps and smoothing some bunker edges
-tweaking green contours
-test playing
-more test playing

... and then probably some test playing

I have published a version for test playing.
If anyone wants to give it a play and offer some feedback, it is called "ccv1.1"

Keep in mind there is still a fair amount of work to be done.

Looking for feedback on the layout.
Any holes that play to easy or to difficulty.
Anything that doesn't fit the feel of the course.

I'm also debating if I want to use some of the trees that I have used in low areas to separate a few holes, or just use some natural mounding between holes to separate them and keep planting to a minimum.

I have tried a slightly different style on some of the back nine tee's, (14,16,17)  with desert in between the tees and a path beside.  I will likely change the rest course to this look, and I'm hoping the cart path update comes before I publish the final version.

Enjoy,

Just played this course and it's very interesting. Actually recorded a -1 for 18 and after the 1st 4 holes was ecstatic I did that. Actually, this course looks and plays great. Might need a tweak here and there and maybe a tree or cactus or two here and there, but all the major work looks like it's done. This was a very fun play even though I didn't get a birdie until the 2md par 3. But too easy isn't fun at all. I would say you might need to increase it from Easy to the Easy side of Medium, but do leave the green speeds the way they are, might even want to increase 'em a bit. Desert courses have fast greens. It's the nature of the beast. A speed of 10.5 is considered fast and TPC Scottsdale Stadium course has speeds of 11.5 to 12, so it has very fast greens.
I will definitely play it again. Looking forward to the finished product. This is a great effort and a very excellent course. Thanks so much for all your hard work.

Edit to correct the statement that "I didn't get a birdie until the 1st par 3" Should have said, and now does, "Didn't get a birdie until the 2nd par 3.

Flat or awesome course. This course should and needs to host a tourney on tgctours.com.

I gave it an 8 officially bit could really be a9 with a few tweaks imo.

For a desert course I would like faster greens. The greens were 15-20% larger than most courses I've played but I liked that and I might stray that way myself. Their contours were superb. Maybe a bit more fairway/run off areas for the theme.

A few holes were missing light rough adjacent to fairways. .. I'm sure you're aware of this.

6 fairway needs to be flattened.
Light/heavy rough combo on landing area of tree shot on 8 looks weird by the bunker.

Hole 12 was niiiice.  Flatten right option off tee just a bit but keep your idea going with theslant already there.

14 I noted light rough on/by green but don't remember what I meant?  Maybe add more?

15 smooth middle of fairway a bit.  I hit a perfect shot and had ball several inches above my feet awkwardly.

17 fw bunker was siiick
For the awesome course 18 was just too bland for what you had going. Don't have to trick it up just make it more memorable.

Take all this as critique and not criticism and also just my opinion. Favd it and ill be back. Check mine out if you can!

Thanks for the feedback guys.  I really think that the key to a good course is good feedback, because playing it yourself only shows so much.  Getting other perspective is key and at the end of the day I want other people to enjoy the course as much as I do.  I'm continuing to tweak it more and more and I look forward to the day I can proudly release a final edition and call this project complete.

Teaser Pic from the 16th tee.

Landscaping continues around tee areas, as well as a lot of other detail work.  I'm leaning towards this option with desert in between the tee areas, and a rough pathway to each of them.  I am hoping that we get cart paths in the October content update, as I am leaving room for them.

Actually having some of the fairways sloped isn't necessarily a bad thing. It adds to the challenge. From what I've seen of the official tours, they aren't going to choose an easy course for a tour stop. All the courses on both the TGC Long and Short tours were hard courses.
