Here we go  :)

I have prepared a plot with landscape and course. This is the basis for the next context.

Entries: Limited to 12 participants (must be PC users), first come, first served. PM the email where you want the file to be sent to.
Dec-Day: February 15th 2015. Hope this gives enough time to everyone.

Target: Finish up the "draft" course by completing missing details and without any major adjustements of shapes or slopes.

Rules:
- You may change whatever you think you need to, including:  :)
  • Theme + all details like Backdrop, Light, Trees.....
  • firmens, speed.
  • Addons to Green, FW or Rough are no problem, as long as the character of the course is maintained.
  • When you generate Trees, remember to clear the playing aereas !
- The following may not be changed:  :(
  • Global water and hills.
  • Landscape, Hole locations and basic layout.
  • Given elements (Green, Fairway, Roughpatches) must stay as they are. Their slopings may be adjusted. Addon's are allowed.
  • Elevation changes should remain as given. Slopes and detail may be adjusted to your needs.
  • Waterhazards are untouchable.
Hints:
- The whole plott is ONLY treated using red brushes atm.
- T-boxes are not yet flattened (dummies been used for that).

Jury:
- There will be a jury set up where every member has one vote. 10 Volonteers (designers excluded) are needed for that. If you are interested send me a PM.

Questions:
- In this thread or via PM for anything unclear or what i forgot to mention.

Looking forward to some extraordinary courses, Have fun.  :)

This will be really interesting to see how designers come up with different ideas using the same basic structure. Looking forward to seeing all the results.

I could do with a little more detail in the instructions.

I can smooth things out a bit but no major elevation changes. I can't remove water...can I add it? I can add to shapes but not remove...right?

Just looking for a little help here. Maybe take a hole and give us "ok" and "not ok" examples... Just trying to make sure I don't screw anything up as hole 2 already has some odd water features that I'd like to smooth out. I just don't want to create problems.

no changes to landscape  :) . So, no adding or removing water.  ;)
Smothing the holes (fw, green, etc) is fine tho.
Compare the pictures in here to what you have in the file -> no major changes, just details.
Of course, if you need some "hill" as fundament for a wall or so, that would be fine.

Things that make you go .... Hummmmmm ...  ::)

Do I want to dare go up against the course design masters in a "one design" challenge ... or sit back, watch and play the results as the unfold ... sparing myself ridicule ...

This won't be easy but it is fun so far. Not a lot of room left for bunkering around greens so far.  Forcing me out of my comfort zone bubba!

That being said I like how hole 2 is turning out. The water is a pretty interesting factor.

Hehe. It was not ment to layout a 0815 course on a flat surface....  ;)
Some holes will be quit challenging.

Yeah...some "smoothing" is more aggressive than other. I'm not making major changes...but some of it has to be evened out in places. I'll send you a couple pictures later to see if it's ok.
