Hey all, I've published a version of the front 9 called "MNGC Test 1" for everyone to check out.

Only the front 9 is close to being finished. The back 9 is there and is maybe 50% complete, but at this point should be considered a complete WIP and is barely playable, to the point where you might as well just quit after 9.

I have to say that in testing so far I am very pleased with how it plays. I've tested all of the tricky shots around the pins to make sure everything is fair, but still achieves lifelike results.

Please give it a try and let me know how your experience is.

Also to note, the back 9 will be quite tough and take significantly longer, so don't expect to see a playable version of that for awhile.

You've got amen corner "feel" spot on and your version of 11 is the best one to date.  11 is the most important hole on the golf course so getting it right is imperative.

Hole 8, just like I see it on tv, when Tiger chips from the mound on the right ( the others as well, but that one I remember!)
And the roll  back down the front on hole 9! How many times have I laughed so hard seing Phil M. do that?  
Just played front 9, can hardly wait for the rest.

NB, hole 13 is a par 5 if im not mistaken? (Ye, I know you said it was under construction, just noticed it.   )

Played last night; initial reaction: very impressed with the front 9. Don't know of anything I'd recommend changing at this point. Kind of rushed through it so I could see all of the holes... will play again today and take a closer look but don't expect to see anything different.

Also went ahead and played the back 9 as is; looks like you're on the right track there also. Since it's under construction won't make any suggestions except I noted the elevation on 17 from the second shot to the green seemed excessive. The approach on 18 also seemed a bit too much, but my tee shot was into the wind and I had a very long second, so hesitate to say it's too much at this point.

Very much looking forward to your progress on the back 9; I hope you will post new screens of the finished holes as you go.

Great job... now get to work on finishing the course!

Ken, I expect 18 to be fine once I smooth out the elevations. 17 will be the biggest question, though. It may need to play a little more uphill than in real life to make the whole plot mesh together. I've managed to manipulate 2 thru 7 to be just slightly lower in elevation on the plot, but to play to their true elevations tee to green. This is so that the 6th hole is not insanely high above the 16th hole right next to it. The issue is with 15 and 16, as the ponds are higher than Raes Creek in real life, but most be even with Raes Creek in the game due to the water table.

The result is that 15 and 16 are slightly lower in relation to the plot than in real life, but 17 has to make it all of the way up to the 18th tee at it's normal elevation. When I get to that hole I will keep making tweaks to see if I can make it natural and as close to real life as possible.

Yeah, I understand the problem you're facing, and you're doing (have done) an excellent job of making everything fit as best you can considering the limitations the course creator puts you under.

Not planning any tributes that actually come into play, such as that would. I have thought about some kind of Bubba tribute on the 10th hole, though.....

In regards to the Par 5's, I can say that 13 and 15 will be easily reachable. I also believe that in anything other than a headwind, the 2nd hole is reachable, as well. The par 5 that isn't reachable is the 8th, which I believe to be unreachable for a decent percentage of the Tour pros in real life, anyways.

And while I agree with the sentiment of eagle opportunities being a fun aspect of Augusta, I already have the tees near the front of the box on 2 and 8. The only way to get closer is to move up 30-40 yards to the members tee. I don't think that is a good alternative, so 2 and 8 will likely stay as is just by circumstance.

To update my progress, I have been working on the 10th hole for the past 2 days and I'm still not done. The stretch of 10-13 will probably be the biggest time consumer and hardest to nail on the back 9. Once I get through Amen Corner, it should be a breeze to the finish line.
