This is starting to get ridiculous now.

The game crashes once or twice before finally loading.

This is is getting very frustrating and never happened before the update.

Join the club. The game is virtually unplayable for me. In order to finish a round I have to go through no less than a half dozen crashes and generally more. Never seen a PS game that crashes this much. Yes, that includes un patched versions of The Elder Scrolls games.

Hey all, we've found that the latest nvidia drivers are causing huge problems for a lot of games, and we recommend trying beta drivers if you have an NVIDIA card.  We are looking into this.

ok thanks adamF.

Can you please explain what I need to do? I assume I go to Nvidia website and search there?

:o Why are you blaming NVIDIA all other games I have are running fine. Fix the 2.0 patch! Just checked, there are no bata drivers available. Most up to date driver is installed.

Try loading through the steam client rather than the desktop Icon.

Posted by Rami_Ali over on Support'

"Hi guys, sorry I wasn't clear, there isn't a beta newer driver, there is a beta older one, or you can get any older driver. Use  http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us  and get the previous version you had that was not crashing or older. Internally after one of the guys installed the latest and rebooted the game was crashing as everyone described above."

I had golf.exe not working after update2 and couldn't get into the game. I went for older.

This worked for me. Check on the Support Forum.

I haven't had it crash on starting but it crashes upon exiting every time since the last update. golf.exe has stopped working. Have tried a few different nVidia driver versions and that has no effect on the crashes.

Then you have covered the spectrum, I have AMD, I have installed every driver I could, including beta, Alienware OEM, and latest full version, all fresh after using a driver removal tool. I have found I can seem to barely keep it playing by turning off "depth of field" and using medium settings, but it still lags in the designer bad, 5 seconds between click and plant now, when it used to be instant. I think you brought in a directx fault TBH.

This update was a really bad one for me.

earlier today the game crashed 5 times in a row with the "golf.exe is not responding/working"

sometimes the game loads first time but when it does this it gets very frustrating. i had problems whatsoever before the xmas update.
