I don't think the headset is a problem, the quality of your speech is fine, it's just quiet compared to the game sounds.

In case you decide to do any more in the future just turn the game sounds down and everything should be good :)

P.S. The distance tool one you just posted is showing as private...

How to make a Double Dawg Legg

Here is one method, but I am sure there are as many ways to go about it as there are designers ...

It's not even going to be a real hole ... it was just to show how a double dog leg could be made with only one way point ...  ;)

Here is a new method I'm using for laying out my next Real World course.  Maybe it can help others.  Using Transparent Window over map.

Hi Everyone,

I have created a 10-part basic course design tutorial. Each video is only 5-10 minutes long and discusses topics such as building greens, bunkering and contouring, tee boxes, etc. Check out the playlist here! Hopefully it helps new (and possibly experienced) designers!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_dxgX8kb-k&list=PLMfOamKMuHDsxaB_HWGjkX6wX8X2sy25W

Hey CC, watched all 10 of these videos. Just have a couple of questions.

1) How do you access the red brushes? I've yet to see any.

2) Where is the next set of more advanced tutorials? I'm ready for the big guns.

Finally, I'm going to start working on a course. It will probably take me a few weeks to finish. Out of respect to the forum rules, I'm not going to post the name publicly. I wonder if you or somebody here would be willing to test it out when it's finished and give me a brutally honest critique of it. You can rate it 1 to 5 stars or however you want to do it. I just want to get an idea of how far I need to go and what the major problems with the course are.

My ultimate goal is to become one of the top designers. I'm willing to put in the work. I just need some guidance to get me there.

it's easy to find the red brushes now. Just grab ANY brush and hit the left shoulder button (on a controller anyway) and you'll cycle through raise, flatten, terrain raise, and terrain flatted.

The red ones are accessed under "terrain" instead of the normal sculpting option.

Thanks guys. This stuff is helping so much. My new course is already a 100% improvement over what I've done up to now. Spent 6 hours today working on just 2 holes and I'm still not completely satisfied with them.

I estimate this course will take me well over 100 hours to complete.

wow 6 hours on two holes you been watching DDawg havent you :D  anyway should be good, looking forward to it.

Once you have completed it if you get good reviews you should submit it to tgctours and then you could end up seeing it on a tour 8)

Yeah, I'm going over every inch of every hole and making little tweaks here and there, making sure my fairways actually have rough around them this time and, well, you know...all that good stuff. LOL.

It is a VERY time consuming and, at times, tedious process. Double dog legs are an extra joy. LOL.

I don't expect it to be up to Tours standards. I have seen some of those courses and they're unreal. I don't have that kind of creativity inside of me. Plus, I don't have that kind of in depth knowledge of golf course layout as far as real courses go. There is only so much you can do when you don't really know what a real golf course looks like. I need to take a trip to my local course, if they'll let me, and take a tour around the place.

6 hours on two holes is nothing.  I can spend 10 hours on a hole and still not be satisfied.

But then, I am one of the extremist in the GNCD.  It's a disease,  I can spend infinite hours on a course, it doesn't mean all will like it, or it will be a instant favorite.

The only thing that maters -- is that YOU like it!
My problem, I have yet to truly design a course I have totally liked from the #1 tee to the 18th green ....

Do not design for anyone else's satisfaction.
