With all the putting threads, talks of perception/perspective, etc, this thought occurred to me the other day:
- I think it would be a nice camera option to have where the camera is basically at the golfers eyes looking down at his/her feet and ball
- It should be relatively easy to implement as well, since it would basically be the overhead camera just zoomed in a bit (and slightly further forward)
- If the goal is to make The Golf Club feel the most like regular golf it can be, this would seem to be a go-to view for real life golfers
- It should allow for better points of reference for putter draw back in relation to the golfers feet, for better distance control

The golfer wouldn't be able to see the aiming marker or hole (except for really short putts), but that is the way most golfers putt anyways.

The way I would see it working would be like this:
- the player uses the existing cameras to set their aim line/marker, etc
- then moves to the Golfers Eyes view to stroke the putt

It would be fully optional... just one more camera view/choice to toggle through

I hope some consideration could be given to this.
Thanks.

I would love for this putting camera option to be in TGC!  8)

I use this camera view that you describe for putting in TW08 and it works great!  I also use the top down camera view in TGC for long putts.  I wish that the view was closer to the golfer as then I would use it on every putt.

This is a stellar idea!  I hope it makes it into the March update :)

Oh thank goodness.
Was hoping you would like the idea Adam.
I truly believe it would go a long way to remedy a bunch of the putting gripe threads, as I believe you made an excellent point in your 'how to play the break' thread in that a lot of the issues folks are having with putting is one of view perspective.
And, at the end of the day, having that view would be more 'golf like' than watching your golfer from a 3rd person perspective and gauging their putter movement while trying to deal with camera skew, etc.

I like it!

Good to read your support Adam.  :)

Now I hope you can sell Anthony on the suggestion since he did not seem too excited about it when it was read to him during yesterday's Twitch Broadcast with the Devs.  ;)

Great idea, the more options/choices the better. Don't like it....don't use it. I love the putting in this game in general. Noticed no difference pre and post patch. Always loved and still love the putting.

The reason he might have seemed less than excited is that, at the moment, we don't really have the time for new cameras.
