HB Studios creates great video games.

We are an electronic entertainment studio that specializes in creating console and PC, and iOS video games.Founded in 2000 by Jeremy Wellard, HB Studios is headquartered in beautiful Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada with roughly 100 very talented and hard working people on staff. The company has an excellent professional reputation throughout the industry and is very proud of the relationships it has established and maintained with key partners around the world. HB’s continues to invest in its development processes to achieve our development milestones whilst maintaining a healthy work / life balance.

Community Development is also very important to the company. Annual donations are made to local charities, festivals and educational institutions plus there have been regular contributions to community projects such as the soccer fields at Parkview Education Centre in Bridgewater and the local Lunenburg High School. At the end of 2008 the HB Studios Sports Centre was opened in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. HB was proud to contribute $250,000 to this fantastic community project which we continue to support today.

HB Studios’ first release, Cricket 2002 for EA Sports on the PlayStation2, was released in December 2001. It became the #1 holiday release in Australia that year and reached #4 in the UK.

Jeremy Wellard retired from his role as president in February 2015. The company is now led by Studio Head and President – James Seaboyer, Director of Finance – Craig Heffler, and Technical Director – David McFarland.

In 2021, HB Studios were acquired by Take-Two Interactive and became a part of the 2K family of development studios.  With the full might of the 2K Publishing teams behind us, it’s helped catapult our PGA 2K Golf franchise to the next level.

With the release of PGA TOUR 2K23 in October 2022, HB Studios has shipped over 52 titles selling more than 29 million units and contributed to 22 others.
